VMS was founded by eminent educationist and social worker Mr. C. G. Chandra, who also instituted the Vivekananda Education Society (VES) — an NGO with an international reputation. The objective of VMS is to impart "man-making and character-building" education in accordance with the principles of Swami Vivekananda.
