VMS participated in the Chessmate Inter School Chess Tournament organised by South Point High School in which more than 180 players participated.

The boys team consisted of:

Ayananka Sankar Nath – VIII D

The girls team consisted of:
Anushka Gupta – XI D
Aatreyee Chowdhury – III D
Pritika Gayen – IV K &
Debashmi Roy – III J

The boys team secured the 2nd position out of 45 schools. They received trophies, certificates and a cash prize of Rs.7000.The prizes were awarded by Grandmaster Dibyendu Barua.
