Rules below are consolidated from all three VMS campuses — Joka, Haldia and Baruipur — so families can see the complete picture. Where a rule is specific to one campus, that is noted.
School Diary
- The school diary is meant to be a record of the daily academic activities of the students.
- It is signed by the teachers and then by the parents every day.
- Special information is shared by the teachers with the parents through this diary.
- Parents are expected to check the diary and sign it to follow–up regular studies.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
- All students are to compulsorily maintain a clean and tidy uniform throughout the year, because this adds not only to one’s appearance but to one’s personality as well.
- The material for the uniform is made available only through the school’s recommended tailors.
- Each child has to make at least two pairs of regular school uniform in addition to one sports uniform.
- Black shoes with 2 Velcro straps to be used for all days including games day, clean hair and trimmed nails form part of the outfit.
HOUSE SYSTEM
- Students are allotted a House in order to participate in different co-curricular activities organized throughout the year.
This not only exposes the talents of students but also develops a competitive team spirit and a sense of belonging. The four houses are:
- Scarlet (Courage), Royal (Honesty), Emerald (Peace) and Gold (Sincerity).
EARLY DEPARTURE
- Early departure or leave from school is strictly prohibited.
- In case of any prior appointment, guardians are advised not to send their ward to school on that particular day.
ATTENDANCE
- The school strictly enforces discipline and punctuality.
- Students much reach school at least five minutes before the scheduled time.
- Latecomers are not allowed to enter the school.
- Students must attend school regularly.
- Irregular attendance or long absence without a reasonable cause will lead to the cessation of studentship.
- Leave of absence may, however, be granted upon a written application from guardians clearly stating the specific reason.
- Absence on account of birthdays, marriages and similar reasons is discouraged.
- Parents should also make it a point to inform the school if their ward is suffering from any serious illness, chronic ailment, physical handicap or sensory defects (e.g. Heart disorder or epilepsy).
- In case of any contagious disease as chicken-pox, measles or mumps the parents are advised to maintain a quarantine of 21 days before the child is sent back to school.
PLEASE NOTE
- Girls with long hair should neatly pin their hair with black clips or tie it up with black girders only.
- No jewellery of any kind will be allowed.
- Students are not allowed to bring any article that is costly, to the school.
- Students are not allowed to wear wristwatches up to Class VIII. Students from class – IX onwards will wear simple wristwatches.
- Mobile phones are prohibited.
The Weekly Uniform Check and Winter Uniform sections are currently published only on the Haldia campus page; the Gifts, Treats & Celebrations section and the bag-check note are currently published only on the Baruipur campus page. Included here for a complete, single reference.
The House System
Every student belongs to one of four houses, each built around a core value, fostering teamwork and giving every child a stage on which to be recognised.
