BANI BANDANA

Start Program Date:

Vivekananda Mission School, Joka in association with the VMS Alumni Association observed Saraswati Puja at the school’s extended campus on Sunday, 10th February.

The school was abuzz with excitement and anticipation once the decorations began. The chief attraction was an enormous Alpana extending from the main gate, right up to the Puja Mandap. Students, teachers and former pupils joined hands and worked cohesively decorating the campus and making arrangements for the puja.

On Sunday, everyone arrived bright and early, clad in the traditional attire of saree or kurta-pyjamas. The students offered prayers and sought Goddess Saraswati’s blessings. For the alumni members, it additionally served as an excellent opportunity to return to their alma mater, revisit the old classrooms and meet their teachers and old friends once again. Once the puja was over, the prasad was served and each and it was evident that each and everyone had a gala time reconnecting with old friends or making new ones.

The following day, the teachers engaged in Devi Baran which was followed by immersion of the idol. As the much-awaited event drew to close, we were only left with the hope of Asche bochor aabar hobe.
Bani Bandana served as a refreshing opportunity to connect the present and the past pupils. Indeed, first you are a part of the school and then the school becomes a part of you.
