The History Department has organised the educational trip to Howrah Rail Museum for classes 11 and 12 as a part of their ISC project curriculum.
A visit to a Howrah Rail Museum is like stepping into a time machine, transporting you through the rich history of locomotives and the evolution of railway technology. As you walk through the exhibits, the sight of vintage steam engines, steam locomotive HPS 32 captured during Indo – Pakistan War of 1971, elegant passenger coaches, the model of first Rajdhani express, double decker express and ac compartments and intricately detailed models fills you with awe.
One of the most fascinating sections is the collection of antique locomotives, showcasing the transition from steam to diesel to electric trains.
A few old coaches have also been turned into restaurants and snack counters for a gastronomic journey down memory lane.
