Students of Class XII from the Legal Studies, History, and Political Science departments visited the High Court of Calcutta as part of their ISC curriculum. During the visit, they had the rare opportunity to observe live proceedings of civil, criminal, and commercial cases. They also witnessed courtroom sessions presided over by the Acting Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court, Justice Sujoy Paul.
The students explored the Mandamus Section of the Writ Department, where the Deputy Registrar briefed them on the detailed filing procedures followed in various legal situations. They further interacted with Smt. Nabanita Ray, Registrar (Administration), who graciously presented the school with a book on the Indian judiciary.
This enriching experience bridged the gap between textbook learning and real-world legal practice, offering students a deeper, more meaningful understanding of the judicial system.
